My one chance to make a Monty Python reference, and I screw it up...
Gail, I wholeheartedly approve of that threat. I also still think you should have roughed him up. A lot.
@sun tzu: No hypocrisy there. Groping and raping someone, while both bad, are not the same thing. Also, the fact that someone is on the side of evil does not mean they have to condone every evil thing in existence. Even evil is allowed to have standards, and morality is a spectrum, not a binary.
Ben, the "I WAS JUST JOKING pleasedontkillme" excuse after insinuating that you want to sexually harass your P.O.W. does not put you in a good light for me. U: Sucks that you're a good hacker, STOP BEING USEFUL SO GAIL CAN END YOU WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE.
@Spartanc45: Murder is far worse than rape, no matter how much value you attach to emotional traumas.
...Well, OK, Obviously is subjective. But I strongly disagree with your above assessment. (as does the legal system in most countries.) Rape is horrible, but at the least the victim is still ALIVE at the end. Murder causes worse damage.
@sun tzu: Existing, not alive. Not truly, for at least a while, and never truly recovering. I had a feeling you'd say something like that, and, to that, I take note of the fact that you've never been raped and likely don't know anyone who has. People like you who act like death is the worst thing ever, quite honestly, make me sick, because that view is so naive as to be nigh insufferable. There are far, far worse things to do to someone than end their ability to feel pain. You may believe that being alive is wonderful and good, but that speaks to you being someone who has no clue what things like despair, violation, and being alone feel like. I'll leave it at that, because further explanation requires going into things I do not wish and/or aren't my place to discuss.
@Hypocrizy debate: It's also not hypocrisy considering Gail doesn't go around killing random people she wants to kill. It's not only a question of which action brings about the worst outcome, but of motive. What's most evil. Killing someone for revenge or raping someone to satisfy your lust?
You'd have to go faar into disproportionate retribution on the revenge side before most people would consider it more moral to rape someone for the heck of it.
Also remember that law is a product of morality not a guideline for it.
@Spartanc45: No, I haven't been raped. I do, however, know someone who's survived far worse...and she happens to be the most stable, functional person I know, a pillar of the family.
@NorthernDruid: Gail isn't killing people for revenge (revenge over what? Shunning her in school? Making bigoted remarks? Pretty sure that would qualify as "faar into disproportionate retribution"). She's been trying to kill people out of greed - because she wants to be the town's head honcho, is resorting to crime to attain that, and is willing to murder those who stand in her way. So, yeah - I do consider that worse than rape.
Gail wouldn't allow it, because she knows how it feels to be defenseless. Also, she only try to kill those who stand in her way or when its practical, she isn't inclined to do something irreversible (both physically and/or mentally) only for fun.
I'm rereading pages [because my feed reader remained dormant for like 2 years and trying to play catchup] and you did such a great job making Ben kind of more despicable than a lot of the other villains here, lol.
